Replacing a broad tax directory with one salary page works only if that page answers your question. Keep specialist tasks separate from ordinary annual pay.

Start with the ordinary salary question

Money Worked Out and My Pay Calculator cover all selected main-form criteria. The Salary Calculator's explicit pension-method entry remains unconfirmed for its main form. Money Worked Out's annual calculation and pension comparison show the deduction treatment.

Keep specialist income in its own tool

The Salary Calculator has a separate two-salaries form with individual code and pension fields. Money Worked Out's two-job estimate is limited to its stated allowance choices outside Scotland, without pensions or loans.

Use the profit-plus-job calculator for trading profit rather than entering it as another PAYE wage. Read the sole-trader comparison if calculated advance payments matter.

Retain a period checker for payroll questions

UK Tax Calculators' anomaly checker has period and year-to-date fields that the selected salary alternatives lack. The payday guide explains that separate use case. No feature score here certifies your final tax return or an exact payslip.

How we checked

Each site's main calculator opened in Chrome and its HTML read on the check date. Features are true only when seen in the calculator, false when absent from the calculator, its menu and its sitemap, and unknown otherwise.

Test: £35,000 a year, England, no pension, no student loan, standard tax code, 2026/27. Small differences in the £35,000 test are expected. Money Worked Out uses the £12,579 of tax-free pay that the standard 1257L tax code gives on a payslip, as HMRC's own estimator does. A site that uses the £12,570 Personal Allowance instead shows £1.80 more Income Tax a year.

Can one salary form replace the whole directory?

It can replace the annual salary task. Other income types and cumulative payroll require suitable separate forms.

Which replacement provides written tax steps?

Money Worked Out and My Pay Calculator have written working recorded for their main salary pages.

Should a freelance payment go in a second-job salary box?

Trading profit follows separate rules. A two-PAYE-job input does not represent self-employment.

Does an alternative remove the need to check assumptions?

You still need the correct year, nation, contribution treatment and income type. Those choices define the estimate.
