A police pay estimate needs the right force, rank and point before deductions. A current tax-year label alone cannot confirm which pay award a form uses.

Separate Scotland from England and Wales

The police pay pages publish sourced Scottish scales. Money Worked Out's constable calculator follows those points with Scottish tax and police pension contributions. Its England and Wales point scales remain unfilled because the official amounts have not been confirmed in the saved sources.

PolicePay supplies England and Wales point and force choices. It labels the pay figures as a forecast derived from an earlier scale and an announced award. Check the effective pay date against your employer's confirmed scale before treating the estimate as your salary.

Check how the form chooses a pension deduction

An automatic scheme contribution earns a separate row from an editable percentage. Money Worked Out applies the fixed Scottish scheme rate; PolicePay selects an England and Wales contribution tier. Public Sector Calculators takes a flat percentage you can change, so it does not earn that criterion.

Money Worked Out's sergeant page shows the pension line and written tax calculation. These estimates cover the stated scheme assumptions. Payroll must confirm any protection, opt-out or different scheme treatment.

Use a confirmed salary when the scale is uncertain

Public Sector Calculators can start from rank and years in band or from a salary you type. Its own warning says pay data may still use an earlier award. A typed salary avoids relying on that dataset but leaves the pension percentage for you to check.

The general take-home calculator can estimate deductions from a confirmed salary. Use the tax code checker to understand the code on your payslip, then read the calculation assumptions before comparing an annual estimate with one payday.

How we checked

The criteria for police pay were set before this comparison was written. Selected external forms and their published text were captured on 4 October 2026; older main-form evidence is dated 3 October. First-party source and existing independent tests support the Money Worked Out entry. Pay-point input can use a projected or earlier scale. It does not mean official current pay is verified. PolicePay labels its amounts a forecast. Public Sector Calculators warns its dataset may reflect an earlier award. Money Worked Out publishes sourced Scottish scales and records England and Wales as a gap. Successful external Script responses were grouped by service before consent on the stated dates, excluding same-origin scripts, styles, fonts and separate beacons. Unknown adverts or cookie banners remain unconfirmed. Zero observed script services is a dated observation. Checks before consent do not certify normal use after consent.

No matched numerical result is published for these selected forms. Feature coverage does not establish calculation accuracy.

Checked on 4 October 2026.

Does a pay-point selector prove the scale is official?

No. This table records the input, while the wording identifies forecast or earlier-award limits.

Which option includes Scottish police scales?

Money Worked Out's selected rank pages include them. The two external forms checked here did not have Scottish police scales.

Can I check a rank above constable?

All three have higher-rank choices or pages. PolicePay's rank selector runs through chief superintendent; the other two include chief officer ranks.

Are the paid PolicePay results part of the comparison?

Only the free visible result is included. Paid modelling and reports were not checked.
