A second job brings another payroll. The code each employer uses can affect the deductions even when the total annual income stays the same.

Enter both PAYE salaries

The two-job calculator takes yearly pay for both employers and shows their payroll estimates separately. It applies standard NI to each job and works each salary over the whole year. It does not decide your final tax bill.

The Salary Calculator's two-salaries page adds individual code and pension inputs. UK Salary Calculator's chosen component has two salaries under fixed primary and secondary labels. These are recorded control differences, with no matched numerical result across the forms.

Check who receives the allowance

GOV.UK says you get a code for each employment. The codes tell employers what to deduct. The code checker explains the letters you see, while the tax bands show how income is taxed.

Money Worked Out offers all the allowance on the main job or a split, plus limited second-job code choices. It cannot accept every code separately. Confirm your actual codes with HMRC instead of assuming the second employer should always use basic-rate tax.

Include deductions only where the form supports them

The Salary Calculator provides Scottish settings, per-job pension fields and loan controls in its two-salaries form. Money Worked Out's two-job tool leaves those out. Its separate single-job estimate supports more deduction settings but cannot turn a combined salary into a complete two-payroll calculation.

The NI explanation helps distinguish pay-period contributions from annual Income Tax. None of these form checks certifies NI deferral, linked-employment rules or every combined-loan deduction.

Keep freelance income out of a second-salary field

PAYE wages and trading profit follow different deduction rules. Use the employment-plus-profit tool for the income a freelance activity adds to a job. Your final liability can also include income or adjustments outside either estimate.

How we checked

The criteria for two PAYE jobs were set before this comparison was written. Selected external forms and their published text were captured on 4 October 2026; older main-form evidence is dated 3 October. First-party source and existing independent tests support the Money Worked Out entry. The criteria concern two salary fields, code or allowance choices, Scotland, per-job pension fields and loan controls. A single-job form or separate site tool receives no credit. Successful external Script responses were grouped by service before consent on the stated dates, excluding same-origin scripts, styles, fonts and separate beacons. Unknown adverts or cookie banners remain unconfirmed. Zero observed script services is a dated observation. Checks before consent do not certify normal use after consent.

No matched numerical result is published for these selected forms. Feature coverage does not establish calculation accuracy.

Checked on 4 October 2026.

Is another job automatically taxed more heavily?

The tax code controls what each payroll collects. Your final annual liability depends on the income and rules that apply to you.

Which form accepts a pension amount for each job?

The Salary Calculator's checked two-salaries form has separate pension inputs. The other two selected forms do not.

Can I use a single combined salary for NI?

That does not represent two separate standard payrolls. Money Worked Out estimates NI for each employment under its stated assumptions.

Does the feature ranking establish the most accurate final bill?

It ranks the selected controls. A complete tax bill and all per-employment deductions were not independently compared here.
