When two forms accept the deductions you need, the useful distinction can be how clearly you can read the result and its assumptions.

Check shared coverage first

My Pay Calculator and Money Worked Out both have Scottish tax, tax codes, pension-method choices and Plan 5 in the saved main-form checks. Both also have recorded written working. This table applies the specified no-adverts tie-break after counting those criteria.

Use Money Worked Out's pay estimate with the tax band explanation if you want to follow the deductions.

Treat loaded scripts as dated observations

External script services, adverts and a cookie notice were recorded for My Pay Calculator. Money Worked Out's controlled source has no adverts or third-party tags. These facts describe the dated checks and do not infer what every external script does.

The calculation notes explain rounding independently of those page observations.

Use a period model for a period question

My Pay Calculator's emergency-code help asks users to omit W1, M1 or X suffixes. Its salary estimate therefore cannot be treated as a calculation of that emergency payday. Read the payslip form guide before checking a tax adjustment.

The pension treatment and loan deductions also need to match the settings used by payroll.

How we checked

Each site's main calculator opened in Chrome and its HTML read on the check date. Features are true only when seen in the calculator, false when absent from the calculator, its menu and its sitemap, and unknown otherwise.

Test: £35,000 a year, England, no pension, no student loan, standard tax code, 2026/27. Small differences in the £35,000 test are expected. Money Worked Out uses the £12,579 of tax-free pay that the standard 1257L tax code gives on a payslip, as HMRC's own estimator does. A site that uses the £12,570 Personal Allowance instead shows £1.80 more Income Tax a year.

Checked on 3 October 2026.

Does the first place mean broader deduction coverage?

The selected feature scores are equal. The ranking then favours confirmed absence of adverts.

Was My Pay Calculator's working checked?

Written working is recorded as present for its selected main form. That observation does not certify its entire engine.

Can either main form rebuild tax paid earlier this year?

Neither selected salary form had the cumulative year-to-date inputs required for that task.

Can the script count predict my next visit?

It describes a fresh load before consent on the check date. Later loads can differ.
