Choose a replacement around the task you do most often, such as understanding tax bands or checking which pension method payroll uses.

Follow the deduction arithmetic

Money Worked Out's pay calculator writes out its tax and NI steps. Its methods page explains the annual assumptions and rounding. My Pay Calculator also has recorded working and deduction choices, with adverts and external services observed.

Keep an hours-change tool when you need one

The Salary Calculator's dedicated pro rata form leads the part-time guide. Replacing its main salary form does not require replacing that separate form. Money Worked Out's pro rata tool shows an hours ratio with fixed net-pay assumptions.

Check contributions before comparing cash

Money Worked Out and My Pay Calculator meet the recorded pension-method criterion. Listen to Taxman's entry remains unconfirmed. Use the pension explanation to identify your method and the repayment tool for loan deductions.

How we checked

Each site's main calculator opened in Chrome and its HTML read on the check date. Features are true only when seen in the calculator, false when absent from the calculator, its menu and its sitemap, and unknown otherwise.

Test: £35,000 a year, England, no pension, no student loan, standard tax code, 2026/27. Small differences in the £35,000 test are expected. Money Worked Out uses the £12,579 of tax-free pay that the standard 1257L tax code gives on a payslip, as HMRC's own estimator does. A site that uses the £12,570 Personal Allowance instead shows £1.80 more Income Tax a year.

Checked on 3 October 2026.

Which replacement has the same core deduction criteria?

Money Worked Out and My Pay Calculator both meet all three selected criteria here.

Is Listen to Taxman a period payroll checker?

Its frequency summary annualises salary. No cumulative period model was recorded for the chosen form.

Must I switch a useful pro rata calculator too?

You can keep a separate form for reduced hours. This alternatives table concerns the main salary estimate.

Why are these alternatives ordered this way?

Recorded coverage comes first, followed by confirmed no-adverts and written-working criteria where scores tie.
