I have a disability benefit award. What should I check next?
Use your award letter to prepare a short plan of official checks. You can leave an answer as "I do not know" and finish with questions to confirm.
Your next checks
Answer the questions above to prepare a plan. Nothing is saved automatically.
Saving is optional. Nothing is saved until you choose Save on this device. Saved plans remain until you delete them or clear browser storage.
Before you act
Read the official conditions for each check. The official service decides whether you qualify. Your reported progress describes what you have done; it does not prove a claim was accepted or money was received.
Before a carer makes a claim, check how it could affect both people's benefits. Existing severe-disability additions or other support can stop or reduce. Read the effects guidance before applying for carer support.
Use the date on the plan when checking your letter and current circumstances. A Scottish review date is not automatically an award expiry. The vehicle scheme provider must confirm the period it needs. You do not need to give us a date, upload a letter or describe your health.
Your choices and privacy
When you save, this tool keeps your fixed answers, progress for each check, preparation date and a record of the rules used. It does not save the written checks or official links. Answers stay in your browser and are not added to the page address. Opening, preparing, editing and changing progress do not save changes. Press Save again to keep them. Delete removes only this tool's saved copy and clears displayed answers. If the browser cannot confirm deletion, the saved copy may remain. Your other saved plans stay separate. Printed copies need separate deletion.
If saving is blocked, you can still print your prepared plan. A failed save may leave an earlier copy on the device. Check the message beside the controls before leaving a shared browser. See our privacy policy.
What we count
We count five anonymous actions: starting to answer, preparing a plan, successfully saving it on this device, changing reported progress and opening a valid saved plan. These are separate from calculator results and employee checks. Each note contains only a fixed event name, the fixed disability check page address and event format version. It contains no benefit choices, nation, progress status, check details, dates or other answers. These actions do not tell us whether anyone received an award or saved money. Switch off usage counts or switch them on.
This is information, not advice. Read our terms. To organise other household tasks, use the money check-up.
