Before copying an estimate into a budget, check whether the form can represent the tax code and deductions on your own payslip.

Match the code to the salary form

Money Worked Out's annual pay estimate accepts a code. The checked UK Salary Calculator main form has no own-code input. Its separate code-help pages should not earn that feature in this comparison.

The code interpreter explains a code without calculating a payslip. The method notes set out the assumptions behind the Money Worked Out result.

Look beyond a postgraduate label

UK Salary Calculator provides an exclusive loan selector on its chosen main form. Selecting postgraduate replaces an undergraduate selection. If both deductions apply, use the combined repayment estimate and check the loan form comparison.

Compare pension treatment deliberately

The table records salary sacrifice support in the wider facts, but an explicit choice between pension methods is a separate feature. Money Worked Out provides that choice. Its pension calculations explain which deduction base each method uses.

How we checked

Each site's main calculator opened in Chrome and its HTML read on the check date. Features are true only when seen in the calculator, false when absent from the calculator, its menu and its sitemap, and unknown otherwise.

Test: £35,000 a year, England, no pension, no student loan, standard tax code, 2026/27. Small differences in the £35,000 test are expected. Money Worked Out uses the £12,579 of tax-free pay that the standard 1257L tax code gives on a payslip, as HMRC's own estimator does. A site that uses the £12,570 Personal Allowance instead shows £1.80 more Income Tax a year.

Is UK Salary Calculator the same site as The Salary Calculator?

The UK Salary Calculator entry here uses thetakehomepaycalculator.co.uk. The Salary Calculator uses thesalarycalculator.co.uk and has a separate comparison.

Can UK Salary Calculator include a bonus?

Bonus and overtime controls were recorded on its main form. Those features do not establish support for your tax code.

Do both forms offer Plan 5?

Plan 5 was recorded for both. The way postgraduate loans can be combined is a separate question.

Are whole-pound results more or less accurate?

The saved row reports the displayed result. Display rounding alone cannot establish calculation quality.
